Software Development & Career

My philosophy as a software developer is based on 3 principles;

1. Work Hard.

2. Keep Learning.

3. Push Forward with your own projects.

What are my skills?

C#, ASP.NET, Microsoft MVC & Web forms framework(s), ORM (Entity) Frameworks, MS-SQL, XML, MySQL, Javascript & JQuery, HTML5 & CSS

Career history

I studied Computer Science BSc at the University of Wolverhampton, graduating in 2011 and immediately moved onto my first role as a Web developer at Risk Free UK LTD.

At Risk Free I was essentially thrown into the deep end and given the shock of coding in the real world. I credit this experience, in the first stage of my career, as a wake up call, giving me the practical tools to fuel my development. At Risk Free I was responsible for developing web based financial systems for blue chip companies; from the following financial sectors; Insurance, Mortgages, Bridging Lender & Off-shore Banks.

A year later I have moved on to the current stage in my career where I work as a Web Applications Developer at Zinc Ahead LTD. Zinc Ahead leads promotional compliance solutions designed specifically for the life sciences industry. Zinc are also responsible for nurturing my creativity and confidence, my abilities as a developer (coding, designing, managing projects) has grown by leaps and bounds. I attribute this to the team, the people I work with and the dedicated working environment.

The books I have read and continue to read have always inspired my imagination and I’ve always wanted to write a story preferable a fantasy novel or series. To this end I've start blogging my story ideas, check out the blog; The 100 Stories I May Never Write
